Atomic Travel Alarm Clock
A small, reliable travel clock with a decent alarm is an essential item to bring
along when traveling. Here, we review a few of our favorites, including a flashlight travel alarm,
and the Global Atomic which keeps rock-solid accurate time.
The Global Atomic Travel Alarm by Seiko is one of the best travel clocks
available on the market. It picks up a signal from the US, Europe and the Far East so it will always display
the correct time wherever you are in the world (it adjusts itself to the country you are in). Other features
include a snooze function, soft backlighting, calendar, rotating stand and a handy travel pouch. This atomic
travel alarm clock can be picked up for around $45 online. A great buy, in our opinion.
The Seiko Global Atomic Travel Alarm Clock with Flashlight is another
handy travel clock that only costs a few dollars more than the clock reviewed above, but it comes with a very handy
blue LED flashlight built into the base of the clock. The flashlight automatically comes on when the
clock is picked up. This can be really handy if you are in an unfamiliar room or location.
If your eyesight is not as good as it could be, then you could opt for a giant
screen alarm clock. Such clocks can be bought for around $30 and come with large numerals (around 1"
high) which make them easily visible. They also feature a light button which is tapped to bathe the display
in a soft light which ensures you can find the time even in the dark. Depending on the model, additional
features might include a calendar, snooze function and even an alarm that increases in frequency.
Other models include the Casio PQ15-1k Travel Alarm Clock with
Thermometer and the Sharp SPC364 Atomic LCD Bedside Alarm Clock.
It pays to shop around online as many bargains can be had if you are prepared to do a
little digging and research.
